Jonathan Roberts

Head of Year 2, Year 2 Teacher

I am from Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. I qualified as a teacher in 2012 and have loved my job ever since! The majority of my experience has been in Upper Key Stage 2, where I led Years 5 and 6, however more recently I have been working in Key Stage 1. My other leadership roles have included leading Mathematics and Computing. This led to my successful qualification as a Specialist Primary Mathematics Teacher in 2015. I thoroughly enjoyed this course, and it strengthened my practice.

I am a passionate and committed teacher who feels privileged to work with children, and always puts them at the heart of everything I do. There could not be a more rewarding experience.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my wife and two young sons. We enjoy long walks in the English countryside and getting away to the beach whenever we can. Before becoming parents, we loved to travel and hope to again in the near future, with our boys in tow! I enjoy going to the theatre and playing board games. In the past, I have completed a half marathon and, on another occasion, plucked up the courage to do a skydive (that will be the first and last time!). Also, I have embarked on backpacking adventures around Europe, Southeast Asia and The Americas.

Working for Nord Anglia Education is a fantastic opportunity. For me, the most exciting aspect is the concept of the Global Campus. Giving children the chance to connect with other parts of the world is a valuable, unique and exciting opportunity for students at NAISAK.

I love the Middle East, particularly its climate, culture and Islamic art. I am looking forward to all of the adventures that living and teaching in Qatar have to offer.
