    Nigel Lane

I graduated with a Bachelor of Education from St. Patrick’s College of Education in Dublin, Ireland in 2007. I then took up a position as a teacher at a wonderful school near my hometown of Newbridge. Throughout my nine years there I gained experience of multiple year groups as well as special education. I also worked as the whole-school ICT Co-ordinator for a number of years. From 2013-2015 I studied part-time in order to gain an MSc. in Education and Training Management from Dublin City University. It was challenging at times to work full time and keep up with my studies, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it made me a more thoughtful and reflective educator.

I then moved to China where I worked as an English teacher for a year. I loved this experience and thoroughly enjoyed working with the children, which led me to complete my Primary PGCE with Physical Education at the University of Cumbria (Lancaster Campus) in England.

I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA honours in Criminology and Sociology. After graduating I moved to Qatar with my family and became a Learning Assistant here at NAISAK. After a year of working with children in the school I found that teaching was a very rewarding and interesting career option for me. This led me to complete my PGCE the following year, using my experiences and observations as an LA to help me understand the role of teaching.
