Head of Year 6, Head of Primary Assessment

    Samuel Lomax

I am a qualified primary teacher originally from Manchester, England. I studied a 3-year primary education degree at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln. During the degree, I specialised in the upper key stage 2 age phase and sat extra assignments in both physical education and English. Having graduated from University in the summer of 2016, I accepted a job in the school where I had completed my university placement. In my first year, I taught a lovely Year 5 class and having worked well with them, I followed them up into Year 6. Whilst working as a class teacher, I accepted further responsibilities, including physical education lead.

    Jessica Knapton

    Year 6 Teacher

    Jessica Knapton

I am joining NAISAK as a Year 6 teacher, as a qualified primary teacher from Liverpool, England. I have been teaching for 5 years now at schools in the UK, Kuwait and Cambodia. I am very excited to move to Qatar, to join NAISAK and to bring my style of teaching to Year 6 whilst developing my skills within such a wonderful organisation.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked in several big businesses in England developing products and creating marketing strategies. I have learnt a lot from my time in business, and always aim to bring real-world work experiences into the classroom. I love to see the children work together to analyse data and statistics, and then to see them use that information to create a product. I think it's important to show the children why the subjects they are learning is important, and how they may use these skills in the real world when they grow up.

    Michael Fleary

    Year 6 Teacher

    Michael Fleary

After graduating from the University of Bolton in 2005 with a 2:1 degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I embarked on a fantastic opportunity to do some sports coaching work in America with young people aged 8-16.  Not only did this increase my ambition to become a teacher in the future, but it also gave me my first chance, to live and work in a different country.  Following this, I completed a PGCE and started teaching GCSE and A-level Physical Education at a large secondary school in England.  During this time, I also held a leadership position and continued to coach junior football outside of my full-time work commitments.

    Year 6 Teacher

    Cathal May

I am beginning my third year of teaching in Qatar and thus far I am enjoying the experiences that an International school has to offer. Working under the NAISAK umbrella has given me the opportunity to develop my teaching style, grow my subject knowledge and understand better how to get the best out of pupils with a range of abilities. Being part of the NAISAK team ensures that I will continue to mature and flourish as a teacher as well as be able to undertake excellent professional development opportunities.
