I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham, before moving to Switzerland and working as a nanny for a year in order to try and improve my French. I worked with a 3 year old boy, and it was here that I realised that I thoroughly enjoyed working with children. I decided to then move back home to Northamptonshire in the UK and complete my Primary PGCE with French at the University of Leicester.
I taught for 2 years in a primary school in Clapham, South London. There, I worked in Year 3 and Year 2. In 2018, I decided to make the move to Doha, as international teaching had always interested me. After living in Switzerland, it made me aware of how much I enjoyed learning about other cultures and landscapes, so I knew that moving abroad would be the right decision for me. Since arriving in Doha, I have been teaching in Year 2 for two more years and was made Head of Year 2 last year at my previous school.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling and cooking. I also dabble in playing netball, although I am most definitely a novice! I certainly make the most of living in Qatar and have tried to visit as many countries as possible in the past two years!
I am excited and honoured to be a part of the NAISAK team and joining as Year 2 leader. I have been wanting to work for Nord Anglia Education for many years, as it is such a well-established organisation. I look forward to teaching within such a vibrant school community that has ambition at the heart of everything that it does.
