Hello, my name is Nicholas Linnie. I am from a small city in the North of Ireland called Newry. Following secondary education, I studied Primary Teaching with a specialism in History at St Mary’s University College, Belfast. During this time, I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach across all the primary key stages. I decided to move to Qatar after I graduated in the year 2017. After the initial hesitation of moving to a new country, it proved to be the best decision of my life. Five years later, I have gained a range of experiences which have sparked a passion for International education. I love to promote and celebrate cultures and diversities within the classroom which certainly aligns to NAISAK’s ethos.
Since coming to Qatar, I have developed into a very keen traveller. I have loved the opportunities that Qatar has offered to visit new and exciting destinations. I have travelled to many places including Japan, Sri Lanka, Singapore and the Seychelles. I love taking advantage of the Doha sun to get active; running, walking and swimming after school. I enjoy playing football as it allows me the chance to keep fit and meet up with friends.
The multi-cultural setting of NAISAK creates the diverse classroom dynamics I desire, and I am confident that my experience and love for travelling will encourage children to celebrate and appreciate their differences.
