    Reena Singh

    Head of Science

    Reena Singh

I am a Science graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and have gained the iPGCE from a UK university. I have been teaching for twenty years. My husband’s job means that we have travelled a lot, and that is what brought us to Qatar. I have had the opportunity to work in different schools and with different groups of people. Prior to joining Nord Anglia International School Al Khor, I taught Secondary School Physics, worked as a whole-school Activity Coordinator, as well as an Assistant Headmistress.

I began working at NAISAK as a Primary School teacher, and then took on the role of Science Coordinator and Head of Year 4. This year, I will continue to work as the Science Coordinator for the whole school, and teach Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in Secondary.

    Leah Murray

Science Teacher and Leader of the International Award

    Leah Murray

I studied at Canterbury University in Christchurch New Zealand where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biological Sciences. I have always enjoyed working with children so decided to combine both my passions and become a Chemistry teacher. Previously I have been working at Mount Albert Grammar School in Auckland, New Zealand. During my time at MAGS I have been involved with creating unit plans and assessments for various courses at each year level as Teacher in Charge of multiple Achievement Standards.

I decided to join the NAISAK team as a way to progress my teaching career. I am looking to gain insight at an international school and how each class incorporates the British curriculum as it is one I am less familiar with. I am excited to undertake the challenge of taking on a new year, with new classes in a country I have only spent a year in.

    Nicole Khodadadi

    Mathematics Teacher

    Nicole Khodadadi

I am a teacher of Mathematics in secondary school. My certificates include a Master’s degree in aerospace Engineering and a PGCE in secondary school mathematics. I have worked for several world-renowned companies in the aerospace industry and I believe that my students can benefit from the skills that I have acquired as an engineer.

I became a teacher as I enjoy working with young adults helping them in shaping their future and the future of the world. I have been greatly inspired by all the amazing teachers I had during my student years and I will be very grateful if I could have as much of a positive impact on my own students.

I joined NAISAK as it seems to have a strong culture of academic growth that encourages lifelong learning for students and staff. Also, NAISAK has a multi-cultural background, which I find very appealing as it promotes tolerance and acceptance.

As a teacher I would like my students to appreciate the value of mathematics through the use of real life examples and projects. I also want them to understand the link between mathematics and other areas of study such as science and engineering, art, music and sports. Additionally, I would like to form a learning environment that promotes creativity, independent thinking, problem solving, group work as well as independent learning; also, a relationship that is rooted in mutual respect but is also friendly enough to allow the students to express their ideas and emotions freely.

    Hugo Queiros

Humanities Lead Teacher, Leader of GC and MUN

    Hugo Queiros

My entire career has been devoted to the teaching profession, which I consider my calling in life, such that I make a positive impact with all my students. Ever since I started, back in 2000, I try and help to mold and shape the future of young adults by bringing the outside world into the classroom. I was fortunate enough to be able to achieve my childhood dream of teaching, for the first 13 years in several schools in Portugal, where I started as a classroom teacher and quickly moving to develop the Humanities department. I then decided to embrace my need to teach abroad and continue to pursue my natural curiosity for other cultures and societies ending up in Newcastle, in the United Kingdom. This amazing experience led me to Manchester to embrace a new project in an outstanding school, Trinity.

    Athya Ansari

    Science Teacher, Deputy IMYC Coordinator

    Athya Ansari

I am a mature, creative person, used to working under pressure, both on my own initiative and in a team.  I have a calm personality which enables me to build strong relationships with people, building an atmosphere of mutual trust. When it comes to involvement with other people, I am very sociable and make people feel at ease.  Stimulating, providing knowledge and enhancing pupil’s learning is second nature. My hobbies include art and crafts, sewing (am very proud of my Singer machine!), reading and travelling. I also love pets and plan to adapt a cat or a dog on my arrival to Qatar. I have 3 grown up children, all pursuing different careers, one of them even wants to follow in my footsteps to be a Teacher. They are well grounded and independent.

    Gurav Singh Sidhu

    Mathematics Lead Teacher

    Gurav Singh Sidhu

Having completed a PGCE in Mathematics from Nottingham University in 2010 I have worked as a Mathematics teacher and Lead Practitioner in Mathematics at secondary schools in and around Leicestershire. I have taught at all secondary key stages and am I equally experienced teaching year 7 mathematicians as I am at teaching year 13 mathematicians. During my time as a teacher, I have always taken a keen interest in extra-curricular activities and have been lucky enough to have taken students on expeditions to Peru and Tanzania. As well as this, I have also been a Duke of Edinburgh leader for the Bronze and Silver Awards. I would like to think of myself of a considerate and patient person; who always listens and treats everyone equally and with respect. Having been a teacher for nearly 10 years I would consider myself to have invaluable experience which I look forward to sharing with everyone at NAISAK. I have always enjoyed teaching and learning about different cultures, therefore when the opportunity to teach in Qatar arose it was too difficult to turn down.
