I studied at Newcastle University and gained a BA Honours in Geography and Sociology. During my degree, I completed a placement year where I worked at an international school in Saudi Arabia, as well as a recruitment company in Amsterdam. My decision to train as a teacher was solidified during my time in Saudi Arabia. I enjoyed working with young people from many different cultures and backgrounds and helping them to achieve their best, both in and out of lessons.
After completing my degree, I moved to Leeds to start my teacher training year, when I worked at two schools; one in Bradford and another in Leeds. For the last few months I have been working at a school on Ascension Island teaching Geography to the secondary pupils.
Throughout my career as a teacher, I want to have a positive impact on all my students and allow them to achieve and excel both personally and academically, in lessons and throughout school. I aim to create a positive atmosphere in my classroom, instil a love of learning in the pupils I teach, and provide them with a stimulating environment where they feel encouraged to succeed and progress.
After living in different countries whilst growing up, I always knew I wanted to work abroad as an adult, and I am extremely excited to start my international career working at NAISAK and living in Qatar.
