After graduating in 2011 from Exeter University with a MSc in Sport and Health Science, I have enjoyed a varied career. This includes working in oil and gas in Aberdeen, and the construction industry in London whilst training to become a pilot. After a change in direction in 2017, I taught science in London, where I completed my PGCE before moving to Qatar as KS3 Coordinator and science teacher in 2018.
I enjoy learning new skills and believe that teaching is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. I try to share some of the experiences and lessons I have learned along the way, and try to develop a positive and supportive learning environment in the classroom. I have a love for science and try to enthuse and engage those I teach to share my passion for enquiry and independent thinking.
Most of my experience is in teaching KS3 science, where I believe fun practical activities help to generate interest and engagement in the subject. I am excited to be starting at NAISAK in September, to progress in my teaching career with Nord Anglia Education, and to continue to learn and develop my own teaching journey while helping to instil a love of learning in the students in Al Khor.
I grew up in Brunei and have been fortunate to travel to different countries. I like to travel, especially in the south of France. I have myriad interests; currently I am pursuing a research degree in sport and exercise science. My hobbies are reading, playing guitar, chess, sports, photography, physiological research, and I am a keen cyclist. I try to bring a can-do attitude to challenges.
I like to live quite simply and enjoy spending time with friends and family. Anywhere with a beach and warm weather is the best. I am looking forward to starting the journey with NAISAK in September.
