    Lucy Diraviam

    ALN-EAL Teacher

    Lucy Diraviam

My name is Lucy Diraviam and I am looking forward to joining the ALN department this year. With my dad and 6 out of his 7 daughters all being teachers, I literally grew up using a chalk more than anything else at home. Maybe this is the reason why I am so passionate about teaching.

I have a total of 23 years of teaching experience, most of which has been of high school Science and Computer Science teaching. My pastoral contributions to schools that I have worked in have been in roles as Student Counsellor, Head of House, House Tutor with a core competency area of ‘Community Service and Student Leadership’. I am also a certified International Award-Duke of Edinburgh Award Leader and was actively involved in walking expeditions for the Silver award program during my time at Al Khor International School.

    Gavin Hall

    PE Teacher

    Gavin Hall

I originally trained as secondary school PE teacher and worked in this role for 2 years before transitioning to the primary setting and becoming a Primary PE specialist. I enjoyed both roles and gained a wealth of experiences working with a wide range of age groups. I believe that Physical Education is vital to the development of a child and that is the main reason I moved to my current primary role so that I could educate children from a young age and hopefully start to develop lifelong habits that will help them to lead healthy and active lives. I am very proud that I have managed to raise participation levels amongst children and create a thirst for PE. Since starting my current role, I have also helped to increase attainment levels and have seen competition success against other schools in a variety of sports.

    Dowaa Razin

    Primary Art and Design Teacher

    Dowaa Razin

I began my career in education as a Learning Support Assistant at a school in London, which encouraged me to pursue teaching as a career. The reason behind this is simple: I love children and I enjoy working with them.

My academic qualifications include a Post Graduate Certificate in Art, Craft and Design Education from the University of Greenwich (UK) and a Bachelor's degree in Art/Graphics Design from London Metropolitan University (UK). My teaching practices, which have taken place in different types of schools in the UK, as well as my most recent post at Cambridge International school in Qatar, gave me excellent opportunities to teach in classrooms where I gained experience working with young people from a wide range of different backgrounds, experiences, aptitudes and needs. There have been several achievements in my teaching career including being involved in coordinating successful art events and participating students in various art competitions in my previous teaching practices.
