My name is Sonia Lovemore and I have been working as a PE teacher for the past 4 years. I completed my bachelors degree in Sport and Recreation at AUT University in Auckland, before completing my Post Graduate Diploma in secondary teaching at the University of Auckland. After spending 2 years teaching in New Zealand, I decided to move to London in 2018 to further pursue my teaching career. I worked in several different schools across London in particular, the south west of London. As well as my role as a secondary PE teacher, I have also had experience working as a Primary PE teacher and Head of Department.
My training and experience both in the primary and secondary sector, have equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to teach and support a wide range of students.
Throughout my life, I have always been a keen and competitive sports person. Since the age of 16, I have been playing in the top women’s football team at my club as well as playing in the top women’s league in Auckland and hope to continue my passion for football here in Qatar. As well as football, I have also competed in both Athletics and Touch Rugby to a high level.
Aside from sport, I also enjoy the outdoors, socialising with friends and travelling to new destinations.
I am excited to start my new journey at Nord Anglia International School and I am looking forward to being part of a fantastic school community. I hope to be able to instil my passion for physical education into my students to ensure they become lifelong learners and participants of physical activity. I believe my previous experience and personal philosophy will ensure that students at NAISAK are enabled, confident and ready to face the challenges that their next stage of life will bring.
