At Nord Anglia International School Al Khor (NAISAK) in Qatar, our 11 to 16-year-olds follow the National Curriculum of England, which culminates in their IGCSE exams at 16.
Split into Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) and Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11), our British secondary programme will give your child the skills, understanding, and confidence to excel both in their IGCSEs and at A-level.
Our secondary curriculum is specifically designed around the needs of the developing teenage brain. Lessons are packed with relevant opportunities, projects, and themes, which connect what our students learn in the classroom with real-world experiences. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum supports our students through the transition from primary to secondary school.
Your child will become an expert in the core subjects of maths, English, and science, and gain a deeper understanding in geography, history, music, PE, and their chosen languages. This gives them a flavour of what it would be like to study each subject at IGCSE level, helping them to make their choices at the end of Year 9.
To keep track of their progress, our students sit measure of academic progress (MAP) tests in English, maths, and science at the end of each term. This gives us a fantastic insight into their development and enables our teachers to identify strengths and overcome challenges.
At Key Stage 4, our secondary school students work towards their IGCSE exams.
