Ensuring new students make the best possible start at BSKL

At the British School of Kuala Lumpur, we understand that moving schools mid-year can be difficult. To help new joiners settle in well during this period and ensure a smooth academic, social and cultural transition, the school has a number of specifically designed programmes and processes in place.

  • 98% of new parents said that their first contact with the school was warm and welcoming - a signature of our school experience
  • Our EYFS teachers are trained to use visual cues to orientate students without English, which helps mid-year joiners to settle in more quickly
  • Assistant teachers in every Primary class hold degrees so there are always two highly-trained adults on hand to welcome and support new joiners
