Today Year 4 made a trip to the National Museum of History to tie in a hands-on experience and make real life connections to our units on the Mongolian and Russian empires. They saw firsthand the spears, armour, swords and fighting tactics that the Mongolian warriors used as well as a map of the extent of the Mongolian Empire. Our students also gained a greater understanding of the U.S.S.R., the Soviet history of Uzbekistan and their influence on Uzbek society.
One of the most ancient, exceptionally interesting types of art in Uzbekistan is decorative ceramics, and the students moulded and painted traditional clay figures and ceramic plates.
The last part of our trip was particularly interesting as it displayed Uzbekistan's independence and transition to 21st century.
