With the amount of in-depth study undertaken sometimes able to grant direct entry into the second year of university courses.
University Visits
Our growing success continues to attract an ever-expanding list of top universities from around the globe. These visits are not only informative but also motivate our students as they make plans for life after the British School of Guangzhou. This year Ivy League universities from the US plus several top-10 UK universities will visit as well as a growing number of top institutions from Australia and Asia as they try to recruit our students.
Summer Courses
As the competition for places at top universities increases, summer programmes (many held on university campuses) are becoming increasingly popular to help support university applications. Last year, the British School of Guangzhou helped students in Years 10-12 to attend such courses, with many students offered scholarships as a result of their superb applications.
SATs
For those considering applications to US universities, the British School of Guangzhou is accredited as an official SAT centre, allowing our students to sit both SAT and SAT Subject Tests.
Work Experience
This is becoming an increasingly important way of adding value to university applications. As part of our high school provision, all Year 12 students are assisted in organising a work placement lasting at least one week.
International Award
The International Award is a global scheme that develops the whole student, particularly in terms of leadership, self-discipline and self-sufficiency. University admissions departments particularly value these awards as evidence of commitment and depth of character within applicants. The British School of Guangzhou embraces this offering Bronze, Silver and Gold award opportunities to our students each year.
