As part of our IPC topic ‘Buildings’, Year 1 visited the Museum of Ethnology to see traditional Vietnamese buildings.

The children spent the morning walking around the outside of the museum, exploring the different buildings, where tour guides were able to give more information about the houses and the people that would live in them. It was a great opportunity for the children to see how buildings are made from different materials, such as clay and wood. They enjoyed seeing where people would eat, sleep and shelter in and under the buildings. Year 1’s favourite house was the Ede Long House, which had many rooms to explore. It was a hot day, giving the children a chance to see how people would shelter under the houses on stilts. The children listened well to the instructions and were great representatives for the school. Despite the heat, the children really enjoyed their trip!
