The Sense Garden is a project pioneered and founded by social enterprise Think Playgrounds (TPG) with the aim of creating an educational space about nature and therapy for the local children.

One of the problems of today's society is that our living environment is lacking in green spaces. Therefore, children living in urban area are gradually isolated from nature and don’t have many public playgrounds. Understanding these disadvantages, TPG has planned and implemented the Sense Garden project with the desire for children to experience, explore and build a close connection with the nature.

In phase one of the project, students from BVIS Hanoi picked up rubbish, planted trees and built roads. Although the work was not easy, they worked so hard and learned many new things.

On December 13, 2022, phase one of the project was officially completed and the garden was opened by local goverment and representatives of Lichtenberg district, Berlin, Germany – a Hoan Kiem district’s partner. This is Hanoi's first sustainable project licensed by the Vietnamese government and has been reported on famous local news such as Bao Xay Dung, VOV2, An Ninh Thu Do, etc.

During the opening ceremony, BVIS Hanoi was specially mentioned as being the first international school to cooperate with this project and has provided financial support for the project through the Service-Learning Fund.

In March 2023, our students will return to the garden and witness the positive change they have made.
