Week Beginning 10 April 2017


  • Please be aware that the ECA/ BISCAP/Swimming programmes have now finished.  The Term 3 programme will begin on Monday 17 April and run until Thursday 16 June.


In Literacy this week we will begin a three week unit learning how to write a report. We will link this report to our topic on Rainforests. The children will use books to make notes that will be about the rainforest and then use these notes to begin to write their own report. The grammar focus for this week will be the use of commas in a list.


This week the children will learn how to read a scales in a variety of different contexts including; thermometers, weighing scales and rulers. The children will learn how to discover the different scales by counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to check the scale.

Themed Learning

The children will begin their topic on the rainforest by turning their classroom into a rainforest! They will be making snakes, birds and butterflies as well as a range of trees and shrubs to help them understand what it is like to explore a rainforest!


The teachers will teach the children playground games and discuss what it means to be a good friend.

Deze kinderen van KS1 starten deze week een nieuw thema `Wat een kunst!`  We komen alles te weten over het museum aan de hand van het boek `Willewete: het museum` en buigen  ons over de vraag `Wat is nu eigenlijk kunst?`.

In de spellingslessen buigen we ons over medeklinkerclusters aan het eind van het woord.
