Year 2 Cinema trip

Last Thursday morning, the children in Year 2 visited the Platinum Cinema in Royal City as part of their IPC ‘Media Magic’ topic.

When we arrived, we were met by Phuong and Toi, the manager and assistant manager who gave us a very friendly welcome!  We split into two groups and were given a fantastic tour of the different areas of the cinema. First, we visited the box office and Phuong explained the process of buying a ticket. Then we went ‘behind the scenes’ to the technical room where the movies are projected to each cinema screen. This was very interesting because we were able to see how the movies are sent from a laptop computer to the big screen. We were very careful not to touch anything!  After this we visited the snack area. Two people were lucky enough to go behind the serving counter and help to make the first popcorn of the day! Everybody else was very happy to taste it!

We were then taken to our own private movie theatre where we sat back and enjoyed watching ‘The Jungle Book’ with our popcorn and drink. Everybody enjoyed the film and their delicious snack. The teachers were very proud of the children, who behaved so well and learnt a lot. Thanks to all of the adults who helped make the trip a safe and happy one.
