Year 9 Trip to Lang Co Beach and Hoi An

It was an action-packed and memorable trip to Lang Co Beach and Hoi An for Year 9 last week! The trip kicked-off with some beach-side fun and games as all students took part in team building activities – with the highlights being: ‘water bomb’ volleyball, and a thrilling game of ‘Water, Water Everywhere!!’ where teams had to plug lots of holes in a large barrel and fill it to the top with sea water. Only one team came up with the correct method of tilting the barrel on its side, but all teams gave the challenge 100% effort. It was then on to Marble Mountain where all students had the opportunity to abseil a 25m cliff, and a 15m drop into a dark cave. It was great to see almost all students trying this activity, many of whom had to overcome some last minute nerves! The remainder of the trip was spent in and around Hoi An and included some cultural activities such as a boat trip up a river to a village to see traditional mats being made, and a guided tour of Hoi An ancient town. Lots of fun was had on day 3 as small teams of students took part in an ‘Amazing Race’ style scavenger hunt around the old town collecting, buying and photographing objects and places on a list. The winners were the first team back with as many things on their list checked off as possible! All students had a great (if exhausting) time on the trip.
