Music Coffee Morning

Singing across the Curriculum

Singing has taken centre stage this week in the Primary School at BVIS with Miss Fiona, our specialist Music teacher, delivering a training session to our teachers and also a coffee morning to parents about the benefits of singing for your children.

As a school, we are always looking for ways to enhance our lessons and provide your children with different ways to learn and the training we received this week from Miss Fiona provided our teachers with further ways to do this. Singing, especially when the children are younger, is a very powerful tool to help children acquire language and therefore should happen both in school and at home with you as parents. So please do not be surprised if your children are sent home with a song to learn for homework – it could even be about science or maths.

Music Coffee Morning

I would like to pass on my thanks to the parents who were able to support this coffee morning and also to Miss Fiona, for her hard work in preparing and delivering these events.

Mr. Oliver
