This week in the Primary School
“Mad Scientist Day”
Our BVIS Early Years department holds several theme days during the academic year for our youngest children in school. This week saw the first of those: Mad Scientist Day.
The children and their teachers were quite a spectacle dressed in their scientist lab coats and they all had a great time carrying out some investigations. The children were finding out more about the land, water and air through their fun activities.
“Wake Up Shake Up” on Friday mornings
Our Friday morning “Wake Up Shake Up” time in the Primary playground at 08:20 is very popular with parents, staff and children. It is fun and provides some additional physical activity for the children. Led by our PE teachers using simple dance and exercise moves to music, it encourages the physical development of our children.
As you know we are always promoting learning as global citizens at BVIS
so the music we use for Wake Up Shake Up is from different countries around the world. We started the year with a routine based on the samba from Brazil and this week we are introducing a new routine based on Bollywood dancing from India. The children learn about the dance and country it comes from in assembly.
All are welcome to join us at 08:20 on Friday mornings!
