A very warm welcome back and I trust that you had a relaxing public holiday with your family and friends.
The IGCSE and A level written examinations began this week and this will come as a relief to teachers and students who have been revising and preparing hard in preparation for these examinations. Whilst of course very nervous, the students appear to be coping with the stress and pressure of the examinations very well so far. We wish them the very best of luck and we are sure that they will perform well as many others have done before them.
It was only a very short week due to the bank holiday, but we took the opportunity to launch our eco week. Primary and secondary students have spent the week engaging in activities promoting this most important of issues. On Friday it was great to see so many students and staff wearing an item of green to further promote and lend their support to this initiative.
Shortly you will be receiving a letter from me outlining the main feedback from the parent survey that many of you completed before the spring break. I was delighted to see that 94% of parents who completed the survey would recommend our school to others. This is a fantastic endorsement for the school and is testament to the huge amount of hard work and effort that has been asserted by the whole school community to ensure the educational experiences and opportunities we give to the children is of a very high standard.
Next Thursday we will be hosting our very first grandparents day here at BVIS. We recognise for many families, the grandparents play a significant role in supporting the children in their education and aspirations. We have taken this opportunity to invite grandparents in for the day and to celebrate with the children, their contribution to family life and our school community. I am looking forward to meeting them all on Thursday.
I would like to wish you all a very relaxing weekend!
