We have come to the end of what has been another very busy term at BVIS. Yet again we have excelled with the number of activities, sporting competitions, productions, assemblies, parent meetings, residentials and school trips. None of this can happen of course without the huge commitment and enormous effort from all our staff, students and from the support you as parents give to the school. I would like to thank everyone for making BVIS such an exciting, vibrant and very special place to be. We should all be rightly proud of what we are achieving here.
We have been completely blown away by the kindness and generosity of our community in support of the ‘Have a Heart’ campaign. With the auction of the art work, fund raising and some very generous private donations we will be able to support a good number of children in support of urgent heart operations. I would like to thank the whole community for your support in such a worthwhile and moving cause. We are now in the process of selling wrist bands and school calendars designed with the winning pieces of art. Once we have a final total we will update you on how the money has been spent.
The term ended how it started with many special events. As well as exit points in primary, the EYFS children and staff put on a fabulous performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. On Wednesday the secondary school were heavily engrossed in an amazing debating competition that ran for the entire day and we ended the week with an incredible Year 4 production of Alice in Wonderland. What an amazing way to end the term.
So, I wish all the students and staff a very happy and well deserved spring break. I also hope that you will all share some very happy memories as families over the break period. When we return our Year 11, 12 and 13 students will start their formal examinations and we wsih them all the very best of luck for their forthcoming examinations.
Just a reminder that school starts back again on Monday 17th April at 8.30.
Have a wonderful spring holiday.
