Secondary Update – Mr Simon Graves – 16/06/2017

  • Simon

With only a week to go, we haven’t even started thinking about winding down ready for the summer! The Model United Nations Conference at EIS was a great success, with seven year 10 students making their way across to District 2 for a fascinating weekend. Click here for more information of EISMUN.

Just down the road from them, three of our sixth formers attended the inaugural Nord Anglia South East Asia Student Leadership Conference at BIS. Click here for more information of the conference.

The sixth form prom on Saturday evening was a fabulous event, and made for some brilliant pictures – taken by the Prom King himself, Kiwi! Click here for more information of the prom.

Monday saw our Year 6 students experience their first full day in Secondary school, trying out a range of lessons, and ending with their parents experiencing a lesson too! Click here to read more information of the transition day.

Then on Thursday evening, our Sports Awards Evening was once again a roaring success. You can see pictures of the event above, but big congratulations to all of our award winners, to all squad members and coaches, and to Mr Kenny and the PE team for running once again an outstanding Sports Programme at BVIS.

The Breezeway Mural on the second floor is finally nearing completion, and an amazing work of art it is too. A big thank you to all Ms Smith for organising it all and all the students who gave up their time to paint it.

In the Breezeway, an exhibition of Year 10 art work is now on display, and I urge you to go up to look at both the mural and the art on display there!

Next Wednesday, 21 June, is our annual Secondary Prize Giving Assembly. We start at 9am in the Main Hall, and it would be lovely to see parents come along to support your children. It will also be an opportunity for people to say goodbye to those students and staff leaving this year.

Finally, a reminder that we break up next Friday at 11.30am. Reports will be issued on Thursday, with yearbooks given out on Friday, so please ensure all text and library books are returned before then!

Have a lovely weekend!

Headteacher’s Awards

The whole Breezeway Mural Team for an amazing job, but especially: LE Mai Khanh (Esme), PHAM Minh Ha My (Jenny), NGUYEN Nam Anh (Kelly) and VO Ho Bich Ngoc, all 10V
