I started out as an architectural graduate who decided to take a year off with my husband to go and teach English in Taiwan. Once there, I discovered my love for teaching and one year quickly turned into five. We then decided to move to Cambodia where I taught at a local university until a friend suggested I apply for a position at NISC.
I started teaching at NISC in 2008.I was immediately made to feel very welcome and appreciated the collegiality between staff members and the constant drive towards developing ourselves professionally. It has been this culture of collaboration and a school wide striving for excellence that has kept me at the school over the years.
I grew up in South Africa where I met and married my childhood sweetheart. We have two beautiful girls and enjpy spending time together as a family. I enjoy reading, meeting up with friends, family and travelling.
This school is different to all others I have worked at because...
Here at NISc there is a strong sense of community between faculty members, students and their families. I have grown close to many families and have enjoyed watching students grow and learn through the years. At NISC we celebrate our cultural diversity and welcome new members into our community with open arms.
As a teacher, I have had many opportunities to grow through meaningful on-going professional development and goal setting meetings with school leaders. I have been inspired to achieve more than I ever could have on my own and have received support and encouragement along the way. I have learned to embrace the challenge of being a life-long learner.
