Jenni Young

Staff Profile - Jenni Young

MYP and DP English Language and Literature Teacher

Jenni Young has a Masters degree in French language and literature. She worked in the Philippines, Sweden and Tanzania before joining Northbridge in 2011. She has taught the DP for 22 years and the MYP for 16 years.

  • MA French, Canterbury University, New Zealand
  • Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Cambridge University

Jenni worked as a sub-editor for Television New Zealand before switching to teaching English as a foreign language. She has always been interested in languages, and taught EAL and French in the Philippines before moving to Sweden where she taught English Language and Literature for three years. Jenni spent ten years at the International School of Tanganyika in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, where she was head of English, before moving to Northbridge in 2011 as one of the teachers implementing the Diploma and Middle Years Programmes. Jenni has been a DP examiner since 2007.

Jenni is from New Zealand and is interested in travel, cinema and theatre, and is passionate about language and literature. Nothing makes her happier than seeing students with their noses stuck in a book!
