I completed my undergraduate degree in Music at Durham University before moving to the University of Cambridge to undertake my Post Graduate Certificate of Education. I have always wanted to teach so was excited to begin my career as a Year 1 class teacher at a school in Lancashire, England. Whilst there I was the music coordinator for the entire Primary School and strived to provide inspirational and fun musical experiences for all the children, both in and out of class.
Since then I have been the classroom teacher in Key Stage 2 and Foundation stage. I now teach Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Music, using my training in the Juilliard collaboration to enhance lessons. I thoroughly enjoy every age group I teach as each key stage is unique and hugely rewarding to be involved in. I was thrilled to be offered the chance to work at the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park. Having spent much of my childhood and adult life travelling, I felt working and living in a new country combined my two passions and has proven to be an extremely positive and exciting experience.
I love to travel. I take every opportunity to try a new town, city or country. During the winter I enjoy skiing.
