I was born and raised in the busy city of Glasgow, in the West of Scotland. Having taught in Scotland for a number of years and had the opportunity to work with children across Europe whilst volunteering: I was thrilled when asked to move to Chicago to continue my love of teaching. Chicago is filled with diversity from every walk of life and yet there is a sense of unity and pride that radiates from this beautiful city. It’s this sense of community where support, talent and an eagerness to learn are brought together that makes BISC Lincoln Park such a unique and wonderful place to be in each day and I am very proud to be a part of it.

I come from Dumbarton, a small town on the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. It was a great place to grow up, as I was close to the buzzing life of the city, but also had the tranquil and scenic banks of Loch Lomond on my door step. I previously taught at St. Mary's Primary school, Glasgow for 10 years, teaching Year 4-6 before taking up my appointment at BISC Lincoln Park in 2014. In my first year, I was fortunate to be responsible for a Year 6 class. This was a wonderful experience. Currently, I am member of the Learning Resource Center. I feel very privileged to be part of this team. I find my job incredibly rewarding and feel fortunate to be able to utilize my skills and experience to support and nurture the learning of our students. Chicago is an amazing place to live! Even during the harsh winters, the city is vibrant and alive. I love its diversity and the differences between each neighborhoods. Even now, there are some many areas I have yet to explore!

I am originally from Cwmbran, a small town in Wales, quite near to the capital Cardiff. I adore Chicago, some of the highlights are the lakefront path, deep-dish pizza and friendly people. Also, I really enjoy the surrounding area and escaping the city for Wisconsin on the weekend.
