Dear Parents,

One of the strengths of Compass International School Doha is the positive relationship between the school and our families. This has been evident in the fantastic turnout for the many school events that have taken place so far this term. There are many upcoming events that you will not want to miss:

Parent Workshops

Our Parent Workshop series continues tomorrow with a focus on Mathematics and, in particular, progression of calculation methods. This will be led by our Primary Mathematics Leader of Learning, Ms Skelt, and will take place in the Sports Hall at 07:30 am.

The purpose of these workshops is to provide useful information, strategies and resources to help you best support your child at home. With that in mind, I would welcome your suggestions for future Parent Workshops for next term. Please see me at the start or end of the school day or email me at jimmy.frawley@nais.qa

Years 1, 2, 3 Musical Melody

Building on the runaway success of last year’s Y1 to 3 Musical Melody, we are delighted to present ‘Humphry and the Bongo Bandits’ which will take place on Wednesday, 29 November at 5:30 pm. Having witnessed some of the rehearsals and songs, we are in for a treat!

International Breakfast

The ever-popular International Breakfast takes place on Saturday, 9 December between 09:00 – 11:00 am. This is a great opportunity for families and teachers to recognise and celebrate the rich and diverse school community we have. To get involved in supporting this wonderful event, please click here.

If you have any questions, please see Mr McConnell or myself.

Book Fair

This week, we welcome Family Bookshop into school for our first Book Fair of the academic year. A wide range of great children’s books will be available to purchase between 07:00 am - 2:00 pm Tuesday to Thursday.

And finally…

As part of Nord Anglia Education’s partnership with UNICEF, all NAE schools were involved in a ‘chain reaction’ event on Twitter. Our student leaders from Primary and Secondary, as well as those from Rayaan and Gharaffa, responded to a question posed by our sister schools in South East Asia before passing the challenge onto our European schools.

Their video response can be found here: https://twitter.com/cisdoha/status/932176471598100480

I look forward to seeing you at these events.

Have a wonderful week!

Jimmy Frawley, Head of Primary
