I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2008 with an honours degree in Sport Development before also completing my PGCE also at Liverpool John Moores University in 2010. Prior to teaching, I worked in the field of sports management for a number of sporting organisations, primarily within Rugby League, including National Governing Bodies. For the last five years I have worked at a community secondary school in North Yorkshire. This included being promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Learning.
I have moved to Houston with my wife Grace, who I have been married to for just over a year. Away from teaching I have a passion for travel and enjoy participating in a number of sports, including cricket and rugby league. I am dedicated to continually improving as a professional, in particular developing strategies that aid in improving my teaching and learning practice.
This school is different to all others I have worked at because...
Compared to other schools that I have worked in, the diverse nature of the school and the range of different nationalities is certainly something new to me. The students are polite and respectful and have a clear motivation to learn. This commitment is evident both within Physical Education lessons and within extracurricular activities.
