We believe in providing a caring school community for all students. Our community outreach program teaches children the value of being part of the wider global community.
At the British International School of Houston we want our students to recognize the importance of being involved in the community. We encourage students to think about their place in the world and how they can be responsible global citizens.
A recent community outreach program involved students working at a muscular dystrophy camp, caring for children affected by the condition. Other community service projects have sent students to work in an orphanage in South Africa and at a hospital in the UK.
The British International School of Houston is a supporter of many charities including:
- Star of Hope
- American Red Cross
- Citizens for Animal Protection
- The Manna Project
- Operation Smile
- Race for the Cure
- Salvation Army
- Texas Children’s Hospital
- World Wildlife Fund
We encourage students and parents to share their suggestions for working with other charities and non-profit organizations so we can increase our presence in both the local and global community.
