Staff Profile: Jacqueline Edwards

Jacqueline Edwards

Pre-Nursery Teacher

Jacqui studied Psychology at the University of Manchester where she gained her Bachelor of Science degree.  Having developed a love of outdoor activities during her time at Manchester she then spent 18 months travelling around the world, exploring and developing her interests.

On returning to the UK Jacqui gained her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at St Martin’s College in Lancaster, where she specialised in Early Years Education.  Jacqui then worked in a number of schools across England across the primary age range.  During this time Jacqui enjoyed a range of experiences including running a rock climbing club, taking Year 6 children on residential adventure trips and setting up a new Early Years Unit in a small primary school, where she grew increasingly interested in Early Years pedagogy.

With a keen interest in learning through experience, active engagement, and challenge, Jacqui applies this to her teaching and learning in a range of settings.

When Jacqui discovered her family would be moving to China last year, she was excited to be able to continue her career in the international community.

Jacqui has a wide range of interests including sports, reading and researching new places to explore. Jacqui has been a qualified skydiver and climbing instructor, but now prefers to spend her time more sedately, playing tennis, yoga and enjoying being with her husband and three children. In Shanghai, Jacqui loves to go shopping, discover new restaurants and enjoy days out with her family.
