Staff Profile: Dean Clayden

Dean Clayden

Year 5 Leader

Dean Clayden is from Livingston in Scotland and graduated with a first class B.Ed in Primary Education, from the University of Edinburgh. During his degree, Dean taught English as a foreign language at a school in the Maldives as part of a voluntary project. 

After graduating, he taught for three years at Peel Primary in Scotland where he gained experience across different levels of the school and helped to co-ordinate whole school concerts. In addition, he also contributed to the development of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. 

Dean is a keen musician and shares his passion with the students through the drum and percussion club. Dean joined BISS Puxi in 2012 and is continuing to enjoy teaching in an exciting international context as well as leading a fantastic team of teachers in Year 5.  

Dean is passionate about scuba diving and is a keen photographer. He continues to develop and refine his underwater photography skills across different locations in Asia.
