Greg graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BEd (Hons) after 4 years of training in primary education and PE. He moved from the North of England to the South West and took up his first teaching post in Plymouth. Greg remained in Plymouth for 14 years and is particularly proud of his role in successfully developing sport in each of the three primary schools he worked at.
Greg’s desire to work internationally was realised when he moved firstly to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, followed by 6 years in Qatar. Both positions provided him with valuable experiences in curriculum development and leadership in international schools. Greg is delighted to be a part of the BISS Puxi team and is looking forward to further developing his successful teaching career in the vibrant city of Shanghai.
Teaching is a rewarding profession and the opportunity to live and teach internationally is a privilege that Greg is keen to exploit. He is joined by his wife and 2 daughters at the school and he is delighted that they will be able to share their experiences of life inside and outside of school together. This is the first visit to China for Greg and his family and the challenge of learning Mandarin is without doubt their biggest challenge so far. A keen sportsman, Greg has played for, and coached, a variety of sporting teams. The extensive extracurricular programme at BISS Puxi was one of the many factors that influenced his decision to apply for a position at the school. Greg is now looking forward to actively developing the talents and interests of the children in this area.
