Staff Profile: Rebecca Graves

Rebecca Graves_English Teacher

English Teacher / Assistant Head

BA (Hons) English and History of Art, University of Leeds, UK

PGCE, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK

NPQH/ SL facilitator, National College of Teaching and Leadership, UK

Rebecca taught for seventeen years prior to joining BIS in 2014. She began her career as an English teacher in Greece before continuing to teach English in Tower Hamlets, London. She then moved on to become Head of English, and then Assistant Headteacher, at a challenging school in Newham, London.  Most recently, Rebecca has worked as Deputy Headteacher at the Redhill Academy, an outstanding teaching school in Nottingham, UK. Her role as Director of Teaching School has given her the opportunity to lead a large alliance of 31 schools; developing staff professional development, school-to-school support and research, as well as recruiting and supporting a large cohort of teacher trainees.

Rebecca is passionate about travel and food. She also enjoys reading, the theatre and visual arts, as well as hiking and swimming. She is married with two young daughters.
