Staff Profile: Simon Higham

Having visited Vietnam as one of my first trips to Asia, I quickly fell for its energy,  vibrancy and of course, it's delicious food! 

BIS, epitomises my educational philosophy - the commitment to educating the whole child in a challenging and collegiate environment. To lead within such an environment is a privilege and one that I very much enjoy. 

Bachelor of Arts QTS (Hons), with Education and History, University of Warwick, UK

(NPQH) National Professional Qualification for Headship, UK

Simon qualified as a teacher in 1995 and gained his NPQH from the National College of School Leadership in 2008. He has had experience of teaching across all age ranges both in the UK and South East Asia.

He began his teaching career in Coventry and then moved to Jerudong International School, Brunei where he was the Head of the Junior School. In 2006, Simon moved back to the UK and became Deputy Head teacher of Reid Street Primary School in Darlington. He has a passion for creative teaching methods and developing children as lifelong learners. He is married with two children that attend BIS and enjoys learning about the Vietnamese language, culture and cuisine. Simon is a keen golfer and enjoys football, the theatre and travel.
