The continued growth and development of our school to the vibrant and thriving community it is today is a testament to the success of our students and teachers as they work in partnership. There are currently 350 students from Year 7 to year 13 in the secondary school, all of whom have a contribution to make to our community and beyond. School is not just a place to attend lessons and go home. It is so much more.
Teenagers learn to develop their identities between the ages of 11 and 18. They experiment with fashion, hairstyles, writing styles, humour, friendships, music, technology and learn about the world in which they will become global citizens of the future. At The British School Warsaw, we welcome and value student opinions and guide students towards informed choices in a secure and caring environment.
The Highest Quality Learning agenda of all Nord Anglia Education schools promotes values, attitudes and attributes in our students through their classroom experiences as well as in their daily lives outside school. Our students are encouraged to seek out opportunities to present their own views and ideas clearly and concisely, through collaboration with their teachers and each other. Students are encouraged to evaluate their contributions and develop a concern for society as a whole, whilst respecting differences and similarities between cultures. Developing a belief in their knowledge, understanding and actions is a vital part of growing up, as is the ability to recognise when they need to change these beliefs in the light of new evidence. The aim is to ensure that our students are creative, open minded, persevering and confident.
Our students have many advantages. One of these is attending a school that belongs to a larger family of schools. The Nord Anglia Education Global Campus is an on-line platform linking our students across continents and fostering the exchange of opinions and ideas to impact on their learning outcomes. Our students are regularly encouraged to contribute to science, music, literature and charity projects through the Global Campus.
Our IGCSE and IB results reflect the hard work and perseverance of both students and teachers, and we are proud of the achievements of our students as they continue their education at some of the world’s top Universities. This year, 5 of our students have accepted places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities and others have offers from McGill, British Columbia, Durham, Imperial College, University College London, Bristol, Manchester, Warwick, The London School of Economics, and Edinburgh Universities, to name but a few.
Our alumni work and study all over the world and many stay in touch with us and visit whenever they can.
