The British International School Bratislava extends scholarship opportunities to secondary students over the age of fifteen (those currently studying in their 2nd year at a grammar or secondary school) who wish to apply for an IB Diploma Programme scholarship.

Scholarships will provide for up to 100% percent of the school fees throughout the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The structure of the programme allows a degree of specialisation while maintaining a balanced but rigorous curriculum. The IBDP culminates at the end of the two years with final examinations which are equivalent to the Slovak Maturita. The scholarship includes the cost of all co-curricular enrichment programmes, careers and university guidance as well as academic instruction.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two year course which results in an award which is recognised by universities throughout the world as an excellent academic qualification. The IBDP is also accredited by The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and among students is considered as a ticket to the best universities in the world, including colleges and universities in Slovakia.

An advanced level of written and spoken English language is required as English is the main language of instruction.

IBDP mission:

“The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
