Aboriginal Dot Art - Enrichment

Students from years 7 to 11 have been learning about Aboriginal Dot Art. We have looked into the different types of Dot Art that exist. Why they have drawn what they did, and how it developed.

Then over the past few weeks the students have tried out the different types of art, the first week we looked at typical Dot Art, and the students learned how to create art in this way. Trying to make circles and easy shapes with dots. Also we thought about the colours that are available to the Aborigines. In Week 2 the students pushed themselves even more as they tried to create animals with this form of art. And as you can see from the pictures they did an amazing job. In Week 3 we went abstract. Thinking about how else we could do Aboriginal Art using dots and other methods. Trying to think outside the box! All the students involved have worked really hard to learn about this topic and tried to create their own pieces of art work. They should all be really proud of themselves.
