Super Problem Solvers

4A have been putting a lot of their maths skills into practice over the last couple of weeks by applying them in different problem solving activities.  The purpose of carrying out these activities is to get the children to think differently about different situations.

  • Super Problem Solvers

Through these problem solving activities, the children were applying their knowledge of factors and multiples, as well as their knowledge of angles.

Each day we try to get our brains into gear by solving different problems as we come into the class.  One of these is the "What do you notice..?" activity. This gets the children to look at numbers or shapes in different ways.  It is an open ended type of problem as there is not just one answer. Children approach the problem from different angles and then have to give reasons for their answers.
