The Adventure of a Lifetime!

Last Friday, a very tired but happy Year 6 returned from their camp. It was called  'Adventure Camp' and it didn't disappoint. Having been on many residential trips in the primary school, the Year 6 camp was by far the most enjoyable and both physically and mentally challenging.

The range of activities on offer included kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, abseiling, high ropes, archery, hiking, caving and zip line. Surprisingly the high ropes seemed to be the most popular with a high parcour course running through the forest, all topped off with a bungee jump.

We personally enjoyed this year's new activity - kayaking - where we visited the stunning small lake at Moos Landl. Once we had learned the basics of paddle control and how to sit in our kayaks we then had to prove that we could get out of our kayaks safely if they capsized. We nervously rocked ourselves into the water and found it remarkably easy to slip out safely. The next couple of hours were spent gaining confidence on the water playing kayak-polo and 'Sharks and Salmon' where a chosen 'shark' hunted us in our kayaks.

On top of all the activities, we visited the local spa for a super-fun afternoon of swimming and ice-creams. We also spent two of our evenings in the largest, best equipped sports hall we've ever seen and played a round robin of events which included football, basketball and 'catch-ball' (a game created and patented by Miss Martina).

Thursday night saw us get all glammed up for the disco where we strutted our stuff (and bizarrely managed to have an arm wrestling tournament in between songs!).

What little spare time we had we spent enjoying the company of our friends and watching a bit of Euro 2016.

The bruises, cuts, scrapes and sore muscles (that's just the teachers!) will be gone in a few days but the memories will last a lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who helped us have such a great time!
