Book Week has finally arrived here at STA! The students excitedly came through the gates or met us online, to see all the wonderful things planned for this week.
This half term, we have lots to look forward to! Picking up where the last half term left off, everyone will jump right back into their Extra-Curricular Activities before school, after school, and even on weekends. Also, our annual Book Week will launch across the whole school beginning on Monday 28th February. Learn more below.
Maths day was an astounding success across the whole of Primary!
Year 2 Superhero Day saw imaginative characters, superpowers, stories, and logos live in the flesh as children dressed up to celebrate their hard work.
The Toys in Year 1 appeared to have come to life, causing mischief in the classrooms.
Year 5 launched rockets on the school field, learning about the force needed to fire something into the sky.
There was a great atmosphere at the High School on Saturday morning as 26 teams competed in the VEX Robotics Nationals. It was fantastic to get back to hosting an event that we would have once viewed as a regular activity! Also, last week, some of our football teams had their first competitive fixtures, and we have updates on ATK Testing and Parent Workshops.
Our first Student Council 2021/22 meeting was a great success! Keep a lookout for students wearing their Student Council badges. It was a busy week as Year 3 made Clay Pots, Year 4 designed Titanic Hats and the STARS created Valentine sweet cones!
Foundation Stage children are back learning and listening carefully to the teachers, following instructions, and, most importantly, learning to play with each other again. Also, Year 5 have discovered their fascination for Space as they measured the size of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.
That new term buzz is still here as the students were all really excited to see their classmates in person for the first time in 2022. Also, we wanted to highlight all of Year 6 for their exceptional Shakespearian poetry creations, which you can read below.

Primary had a jam-packed week full of fun! Nursery Rhymes galore and floating krathongs to finish the week off. Christmas has also arrived with a Snowman spotted on campus!

Year 1 experience the world through delightful aromas. Year 5 take inspiration from the Romans and also learn about light creating their own Periscopes. Year 4 produce ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ Dioramas!
FS3 get a taste of STEAM and grow rainbows at home, as Year 2 explore bridges and Year 4 emerge themselves into the world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After school activities are an excellent way for STA children to be in a new setting outside of their VSE routines. It's a fantastic opportunity to socialise with friends, make new connections, learn from different teachers and have fun beyond the usual VSE day. There's something for everyone to keep busy! Year 3 create Acrostic poems based on the word 'Rainforest'! Year 6 work with our Juilliard Drama expert, Aurea Tomeski, exploring how to express energy physically.
