On Saturday, March 27th, the Senior ISMTF (International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation) mathematics competition took place in virtual mode.

It consisted of an individual competition in the morning and a team competition in the afternoon.  The British School Warsaw team consisted of three Y13 students: Szymon, David and Zikai. There were over 200 top maths students and 70 teams from Europe, Africa and Middle East participating in this competition.

We are very happy to announce that our students did very well in this competition: Szymon taking 10th place in the world with 135 points out of 200 possible, David taking 12th place with 132 points and Zikai 19th place with 129 points.  Based on only individual scores, The British School Warsaw placed 3rd in this prestigious competition. However, when adding the results from the team competition, our team reached 6th place among the 70 teams participating. The top team in the competition was Dubai College.  These individual and team results represent the best performance of our mathematics students in the past 12 years of the ISMTF Senior Competition. It is worth reminding everyone that The British School Warsaw proudly hosted ISMTF Senior Competition in 2011, 2013 and 2018.

Please find above a sample of questions that our students faced during the competition – good luck!
