PREPARING YOUR CHILD TO TAKE ON THE WORLD

Our globally respected curricula – created by world-leading education experts – reimagines learning through our six core pillars.

Image_BVIS_Hanoi_2023_317
Academic excellence

At BVIS Hanoi, your child will enjoy a truly exceptional British and Vietnamese education. Every student follows a personalised learning programme that celebrates their greatness and unleashes their potential, taking them wherever they want to go in life – including the world’s best universities.

Image_BVIS_Hanoi_2023_317
Academic excellence

We think beyond traditional education at BVIS Hanoi. Our unique bilingual approach – which combines British and international curricula with transformative experiences in Vietnamese and English – will help your child develop the curiosity, confidence, and breadth of skills they need to succeed.

At every stage of their educational journey – from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to IGCSEs and A-levels – your child will be inspired, engaged, and exposed to different approaches, traditions and cultures. In the early years and primary, for example, our students learn in both English and Vietnamese, helping them to become gifted dual-language communicators.

In small class sizes, which have an average educator to student ratio of just 1 to 12, our extraordinary teachers will take the time to get to know your child, their learning needs, and individual preferences, too. This includes creating a bespoke personal development plan, written with your involvement, that will provide the perfect balance of challenge, support, and guidance your child needs to achieve their goals.

Our focus on personalised learning – which also includes expert pastoral and wellbeing support – sees our students excel academically. In 2022, 98% passed their A-levels, with 35% achieving A+ and A grades – far higher than the UK average. And at IGCSE, 40% of our students’ grades were either A+ or A, significantly above comparable international schools.

Outstanding academic outcomes open doors to a world of opportunities. Many of our students continue their education at top 100 universities in the UK, Australia, and North America, including Oxford, King’s College London, the University of Melbourne, and the University of British Columbia.

As well as being a member of the prestigious Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), we’re proud to be accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

World's best teachers

Every day, everywhere, our world-class teachers deliver innovative lessons and experiences – both in English and Vietnamese – that transform traditional learning. Your child will excel with their expert guidance, which will help them discover their talents, grow in confidence, and achieve outstanding academic success.

Image_BVIS_Hanoi_2023_058
World's best teachers

At the heart of every awe-inspiring lesson or exhilarating learning experience is a world-class teacher. Which is why, at BVIS Hanoi, we only recruit the most talented, passionate, and experienced educators.

Committed to our personalised learning philosophy, they build a strong relationship with each student, getting to know how each child learns best, what they enjoy, and their unique needs and challenges. In doing so, they’ll help your child discover and develop their strengths, and achieve their very best.

Every one of our talented teachers brings an abundance of British, international, and Vietnamese educational experience to our classrooms. Carefully chosen with UK (or equivalent) qualifications, they also go through a comprehensive training and induction programme, which we’ve refined over 10 years.

Really importantly, our teachers love working here. More than 85% of our staff stay with us from one academic year to the next, which is considerably higher than the local and international average. This will ensure your child receives a continuity of education and feels part of stable learning community where they’re known, understood, and truly supported.

Our teaching standards are second to none, which is thanks to the breadth of training and professional development opportunities we offer. On our award-winning Nord Anglia University platform, teachers share ideas with colleagues around the globe, study for further qualifications, and access resources from world-leading organisations like Apple, MIT, and The Juilliard School. They can also study for a Master’s in International Education through our partnership with King’s College London.

Advanced learning environment

Your child will love learning on our campus. Our happy and exciting environment is a place where every student feels comfortable and secure, and where everyone achieves their goals.

Here, three distinct yet seamlessly connected settings – early years and primary, secondary, and our dedicated sixth form centre – are home to age-appropriate classrooms with cleverly designed, adjoining breakout areas, as well as an array of specialist facilities.

These include dedicated artistic spaces – like our 300-seat theatre, dance studios, and awe-inspiring performing arts centre – where your child will discover a love of the creative arts and gain the confidence to play and perform.

Athletes of all abilities can get moving, finesse their skills, and compete in our heated 25-metre swimming pool, gymnasiums, and multi-purpose sports hall with climbing wall. And in our libraries – which have more than 100,000 English and Vietnamese books – your child will discover their favourite works of fact and fiction, prepare for exams, and work on projects with their friends.

Innovation flourishes here, too, thanks to the latest education technology, which is effortlessly embedded into teaching and learning. All our students have access to tech including ViewSonic Smart Screens, 3D printers, iPads, and Sphero robots. And in our primary STEAM spaces and six science labs, your child will ‘invent the future’, as they explore the endless possibilities of STEAM learning through our collaboration with MIT.

Situated in the Thanh Xuan District of Hanoi’s city centre, our school is ideally located, too. We’re close to popular residential areas and expat communities, as well as being perfectly placed to make the most of the diverse culture, history, and vibrancy of our city.

Exceptional learning experiences

Your child’s education will extend far beyond the classroom. In our supportive school community, our students immerse themselves in extraordinary experiences – from life-changing trips to exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, and UNICEF – that nurture their strengths and inspire new interests.

Exceptional learning experiences

Outstanding experiences bring learning to life at BVIS Hanoi. Every day, our students engage with one another and our community, develop new skills while having fun, and connect classroom learning with thrilling real-world experiences.

Our cutting-edge STEAM programme, delivered in collaboration with the trailblazing Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), opens our students’ eyes to the marvels of science, technology, engineering, art, and maths. Channelling their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills, your child will work with their friends to solve real-world problems set by MIT professors.

We’ll also encourage your child to express their creativity through our collaboration with The Juilliard School, the world-renowned performing arts conservatory. Taking part in high quality music, drama, and dance activities, our students showcase their talents and develop a host of transferable skills that set them up for the world stage.

On local, national, and international adventures – including the Nord Anglia Education citizenship expedition to Tanzania and NAE-UNICEF summit in New York – your child will discover the world around them, grow in confidence, and develop a global perspective. Trips to museums and galleries, alongside sporting, cultural, and artistic events through our membership of FOBISIA, create friendships and provide competitive opportunities across the globe.

We also run nearly 100 extra-curricular clubs each term. These include a plethora of sporting activities, such as swimming, football, and basketball, as well as video game design, musical theatre, and cooking. Whatever your child loves to do, our extensive programme will enable them to identify their passions, follow their interests, and even try something new.

We know that children learn best when they’re happy and healthy. That’s why – in everything they do – we make sure our students are cared for, secure, and supported. In 2022, we were awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools by the National Children’s Bureau and Optimus Education. We’re incredibly proud to be the first school in Vietnam to receive this accolade.

Your family will join a friendly community of students, parents, and teachers, who will help you make the most of your time here and in Hanoi. We also have an amazing Parent Ambassador group, which organises events, activities, and cultural celebrations, and gives our families a voice. They’re always looking for new members, too!

Our open-door policy fosters valuable and honest communication. Weekly newsletters, termly reports, parent workshops, and training courses will keep you in touch with your child’s learning.

Being part of the Nord Anglia Education family means there are no borders to our students’ education. On our Global Campus learning platform, your child will feel part of a truly unique global family of learners. Our social purpose

At BVIS Hanoi, your child will discover more about the world, as they explore important global issues, support the causes that matter to them, and take the lead in our community. In the process, they’ll become a confident, curious, and well-rounded young person, ready for the challenges and opportunities presented by life beyond our school.

Image_BVIS_Hanoi_2023_175
 Our social purpose

Through in-school leadership opportunities, our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF, and hands-on community action, our students become conscientious, outward-looking citizens, who make a real impact in Vietnam and across the world.

In school, our inclusive, nurturing environment is the perfect place for students to speak out, share their opinions, and take the lead. Our primary student ambassadors welcome visiting families, while our young eco warriors lead by example when it comes to the environment. Our primary Student Council members, House Captains, and sports leaders are role models for their friends, and help to shape the decisions we make as a school.

We offer countless leadership opportunities for our secondary students, too. As well as prestigious prefect and head student roles, our older learners run clubs and activities for younger children, organise events like our Christmas Charity Market, and drive our cultural celebrations. Growing in confidence and demonstrating key organisational, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills, our talented young leaders foster a strong sense of community across the school.

Your child will also learn about the challenges facing our planet – and take action to address them – through our ground-breaking collaboration with UNICEF. They’ll explore pressing issues, including climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, through debates, global challenges, and projects on our Global Campus learning platform. Our students join their peers from sister Nord Anglia schools at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York, too.

Our commitment to personal, social, and health education (PSHE) fosters the knowledge and attributes our students need to thrive as individuals, family members, and as valuable members of society. It also ensures they develop a strong belief system and lifelong commitment to their own health and wellbeing.
