Our A-level programme
In sixth form, our 16 to 18-year-olds study for their Cambridge International A-levels. Respected across the world, our A-level curriculum provides an outstanding springboard to the very best universities in the UK, US, Europe, and Asia.
Our A-level programme sees our students delve deeper into their chosen subjects. As they prepare for university – and start thinking about careers – they become specialists in their fields, typically studying four AS-level subjects in Year 12 and three A-level subjects in Year 13.
We offer more than 15 subjects at A-level, including art and design, music, maths, economics, biology, chemistry, physics, English literature, and business studies. You can find a full list in our options booklet.
Learning beyond the curriculum
As is the case at every stage of a student’s education at the British Vietnamese International School Hanoi, academic studies are just one element of their experience.
We encourage our older students to pursue their interests, develop leadership skills, and embark on new adventures outside of lessons. We organise trips and expeditions, provide a variety of service-learning opportunities, and offer a myriad of extra-curricular activities, including sports, music, drama, dance, and languages.
Outstanding A-level results
We’re incredibly proud of our students’ impressive results. In 2022, 98% passed their A-levels, with 35% achieving A* or A grades – significantly higher than the UK average.
Top 100 university destinations
Our goal is for every student to get into their first-choice university. In 2022, our learners’ academic success took them to top higher education institutions across the world, including Oxford, the University of Melbourne, and University of British Columbia.
