Why the IB is your best choice for success. Together with the LFA, we successfully hosted another parent workshop last Tuesday. Our Principal, Mr. Tom Ferguson, alongside our IB experts, Mr. Jarrett Brown and Ms. Katherine Hwang (both experienced IB workshop hosts for teachers around the world) enjoyed time working with our parents on discussing why the IB is your best choice for success. The workshop was well attended by parents, who actively engaged with the workshop and asked important questions about the IB curriculum.
The aims of this workshop
Mr. Ferguson shared with parents the differences between the A-level, AP and IB curriculums, and why Léman as a school is especially well positioned for success. He also introduced ten IB learner characteristics to our parents.
“I’m pleased to see our IB students have greater confidence, a higher academic skill development, and a stronger commitment to global citizenship than other programmes.” he said.
We then looked at how the IB allows students to gain a place at their dream universities, and how an IB education helps students prepare for success in their higher educational studies.
We are impressed by the parent’s true voice, which really help us make a better Léman.
This workshop’s attendance was full very quickly, and we were unable to invite all of the parents who wanted to attend. Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Brown have recorded the presentation, and we will share this on our school platforms very soon, so that all our parents can watch and learn. We have further workshops planned, including sessions focused on Secondary and Chinese language learning after May Day holiday. We encourage you to sign up quickly as places are limited! We hope that through the continuing success of the workshops we can help support parents in their understanding of how Léman encourages their child to be ambitious and what excellent learning opportunities we offer our students.
