Year 8 Girls' Health and Safety Course

This term, the Year 8 girls participated in the British Council Health and Safety Level 2 course. Sarah Saher had the following comment to make:

"This term we had our second Health and Safety course. The first one was about Manual Handling; we learned about safe lifting, risks of unsafe lifting and hazards related to handling objects. The second course was all about Fire Safety. I found it really interesting to learn about what causes a fire, how to prevent a fire and how to stop one. We also learned some basic skills, such as how to use a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher. We went around school playing the fire safety officers and checking how fire-proof our school is!

I look forward to the next Health and Safety course because it is so useful to learn how to avoid danger and how to stay safe in a variety of situations. I was also very proud to have my picture on the school’s Facebook page with my Health and Safety Certificate!"
