At NAISAK, our teachers are deeply committed to continuous professional improvement, ensuring they are always equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to benefit their students. Every week, they dedicate over an hour to continuing professional development (CPD), engaging in activities designed to enhance their teaching and support the success of both their students and departments. This time is spent exploring new educational strategies, refining subject expertise, and expanding their teaching capabilities

Professional Development through Nord Anglia University and the National College
In addition to local efforts, our educators also have access to international training programs offered by Nord Anglia Education. Through these prestigious courses, teachers gain exposure to cutting-edge teaching techniques and research, which they can immediately apply in their classrooms. Collaborating with colleagues from around the world further enriches their professional growth as they exchange ideas and best practices with educators from diverse backgrounds. This blend of local dedication and international learning ensures that our teachers remain at the forefront of educational excellence, benefiting both themselves and their students.
NAISAK's very own Mr. Sarfraz Akram, Deputy Head of Secondary and Professional Development Lead, contributes to the online learning platform Nord Anglia University. His content is utilized by many educators and staff, allowing them to benefit from his expertise. Mr. Akram shares, “At our school, we take a tiered approach to professional development to ensure that every staff member receives the support they need. We offer bespoke sessions tailored for EYFS, Primary, and Secondary teachers, ensuring that each educator's needs are met at their respective levels.”
He further explained that the school places a strong emphasis on “cognitive science and understanding how students learn, which helps shape effective teaching strategies.” In addition to school-wide training, departments and year groups receive targeted professional development to address the unique needs of each key stage. “Our staff also have access to additional growth opportunities through Nord Anglia University and the National College, enabling them to focus on their personal development and continually enhance their skills,” said Mr. Akram.
Professional development starts from the top
