NAISAK Celebrates Qatar National Day in a Unique Way This Year
Qatar National Day at NAISAK truly hit differently this year as Al Khor skies filled with rain and fresh winter winds. Despite the weather, students, teachers, staff, and parents came together to deliver a celebration filled with pride, unity, and joy—making it one of the most memorable National Day events at the school.
“Even with the rain, it felt more special because everyone stayed and celebrated together,” shared one student.
School Community Comes Together Despite Rainy Weather in Al Khor
Although rain fell throughout the day, it did not dampen the excitement of the NAISAK Qatar National Day celebration. Instead, it strengthened the sense of community as staff quickly adapted plans to ensure students could safely enjoy every activity.
“This year showed how flexible and supportive our school community is,” said a staff member. “Everyone worked together to make it successful.”
Student-Led Cultural Booths Highlight Qatari Heritage at NAISAK
The celebration began with students setting up booths across classrooms, showcasing Qatari culture and traditions. From a traditional Dukkan and henna stations to artwork expressing national pride, the booths reflected creativity and cultural appreciation.
Younger students toured the school, excited to discover activities happening in every corner.
“I loved seeing all the different decorations and activities,” said a younger student. “There was always something fun to do.”
Qatar National Day Food and Activities Move Indoors at NAISAK
Due to the rain, food and activity booths were relocated to the Arabic Department foyer, which became a lively indoor festival space. Students enjoyed snacks such as spiral potatoes, cotton candy, ice cream, coffee, chocolate strawberries, and more.
“The food area felt like a real National Day festival,” one student said. “There were so many choices.”
Traditional Performances Bring Qatar National Day Spirit to the NAISAK Gym
The NAISAK gymnasium buzzed with excitement as it was decorated with Qatar National Day flags and balloons. Primary school students took center stage with powerful cultural performances.
Primary girls performed a traditional hair toss dance, followed by the boys’ energetic Ardaa sword dance, both receiving enthusiastic applause.
“The performances showed how proud our students are of Qatar,” said a teacher.
Scout Students Honor Qatar with National Anthem and Cultural Speeches
Scout students were chosen to perform and narrate the Qatar National Anthem, present a poem about national pride, and deliver a formal salute to the Qatari flag and His Highness the Amir.
Other students delivered speeches in English and Arabic, highlighting Qatar’s generosity and its contributions to the global community.
“Speaking about Qatar made me feel proud and grateful,” shared one student speaker.
NAISAK Recognizes Student Talent in Qatar National Day Art Competition
The celebration concluded with awards for the Qatar National Day Art Competition, held the previous week. Winning pieces reflected students’ deep connection to Qatari culture, values, and history.
“The artwork truly captured the spirit of National Day,” a staff member commented.

This year’s Qatar National Day celebration at NAISAK in Al Khor proved that national pride shines brightest when a community stands together—rain or shine. Through performances, student initiatives, and shared experiences, the event highlighted unity, resilience, and love for Qatar.
“This National Day felt unforgettable,” one student said. “It felt like we were all one family.”
