ADISSA smaller

We are committed members of ADISSA (Abu Dhabi International School Sports Association) . ADISSA organises competitive local fixtures as part of a league, and end of season tournaments, for all of its member and affiliate schools in Abu Dhabi.

Each age group has the opportunity to compete in a wide range of sports and these are organised on a termly basis. Having specific sports seasons gives our students the opportunity to participate in a variety of different sports through the school year, stimulating interest, enthusiasm and expertise and encouraging a breadth of sporting experience. Fixtures take place on a weekly basis, either at a fixed location or based on the more traditional home and away fixtures.

Team Falcon Sports Training

The department offers a wide range of co-curricular training that supports individual and team development. Each training session is led by a qualified member of staff from the school staff or outside provider.

Team Falcon Performance

Team Falcon Performance is an elite programme that offers our talented students the opportunity to have a personalised preparation specific to their needs. The programme looks at the student’s needs from a ‘holistic’ approach with its aim to improve overall performance.  Team Falcon Performance operates by invite only and offers some mornings, lunchtime and after school opportunities.

Team Selection

We are very proud of our inclusive attitude to co-curricular activities here at BIS Abu Dhabi and as a result all our students have the opportunity to attend training sessions. From our training sessions squads will be selected to represent the school in competitive fixtures.

In general, the selecting of teams is based on the subjective decision of the member of staff running the team. Every year is a new opportunity for all students to prove themselves and their ability.

The basic principle is to be fair to all students and to explain the reasoning behind any decision made. Staff aim to make sure that students feel supported and always allow for opportunities to experience this form of competition whenever possible.
